“THE HIGHEST HONOR”
I would rather be hated for TRUTH, than honored for LIES!
As ministers of His Truth, in these latter times...we shouldn’t be expecting the respect and applause of the crowds…but rather the rejection and the false accusations from the crowds! Ministry is not for fame or a celebrity status among many followers. Too many are star struck, instead of stuck on The Morning Star! The Apostles were not famous until after their death for preaching His truth. If we’re speaking His truth…we should expect more persecution. Especially in the latter times. That’s the greatest, the highest honor!!! This should be the confirmation of success the modern minister looks for, as our ancient predecessors did, without compromise!
“THOSE WHO HATE THE TRUTH ALWAYS CALL THE TRUTH HATE”.
A real preacher may hurt you with The Truth but will never comfort you with a lie!
Compromise is not Compassion!
“Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”-Proverbs 27:5-6
Real preaching will wound you to life! While false teachings will kiss you to death!
God will “wound-convict”, before He makes “whole”, or “converts”.
“Come and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.”-Hosea 6:1
He will send His prophets to cut, before He converts!
Saying…Cut It Out!!!
Without this we only get “false conversions”.
“Therefore, have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth: and Thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.”-Hosea 6:5
Like surgery. To make us whole, sometimes He must cut open the soul (with the sword of His Spirit-Ephesians 6:17), to remove the disease of sin! To prick us, that we might repent! (Acts 2:37-28).
THATS PREACHING!
THATS LOVE!
“As many as I love I chasten and rebuke, therefore be zealous and repent.”-Revelation 3:19
“For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.”-Psalms 109:4-5
TO BE DISHONORED FOR HIS WORD, IS THE HIGHEST HONOR OF ALL!!!
Giving myself to prayer...
…saith the preacher!
“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth.”-Galatians 4:16

"Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call on Him while He is near."-Isaiah 55:6

“THE TRUTH BALANCE”
(The Love and Fear of God)
*compassion without compromise*
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved (had compassion for him), and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad (feelings were hurt) at that saying and went away grieved (sorrowful): for he had great possessions.
-Mark 10:21-22
Here Jesus shows us a compassion for the sinner, without compromising with the sin! Jesus loved the young rich man (in his sin) but loved him enough to tell him the truth about his sin! Jesus offered His loving saving grace, but not without preaching to him some of the law (10 Commandments) -Mark 10:19.
"Wherefore the law (commandments) was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."-Galatians 3:24
He knew the law could not save or justify the sinner, but He knew it would cause the sinner to see his need for a Savior!
Jesus knew, while loving the sinner, sin had to be convicted before the sinner could be converted! Just as Jesus looked on the young man in this passage with love, so does He every sinner! He loves the sinner in their sin, but He loves them so much, that He desires to deliver them from their sin! Therefore Jesus (with loving compassion) will not shun to say to sinners; "One Thing You Lack!" In His love, He will not leave out the message of His Cross and repentance, with the call to leave the world and follow Him! Jesus did not come preaching just, “Have Faith in Me!" No! Jesus came preaching that men should repent and believe in (or follow) Him (Mark 1:15). The young man left Jesus that day sad. His feelings were hurt! He was very sorrowful, because he loved his possessions, or this world more! Jesus did not really hurt the young man's feelings that day. The young man's feelings were hurt, because this is the way he felt after hearing Jesus preach a message about forsaking the world and taking up the Cross. He did not want to leave his life to follow Jesus. Can you imagine how Jesus felt as the young man rejected Him?
Remember Jesus look at him (in his sin) with love!
So, think how Jesus must have felt that day when the young man walked away sorrowful.
The young man was grieved because he could not follow Jesus and keep his sin!
His sorrow was conviction.
He wanted a Crossless Christianity. One that celebrated him. Not one that would convict, then convert / change him. Like this young man, many today leave where the message of conviction is. Some are even calling their conviction depression.
See, Jesus said;
"The Spirit of God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed to preach the Gospel to the poor..."-Luke 4:18 The "poor" would mean those who are "poor in spirit"-Matthew 5:3
"Poor" here means: “humbled”. But it also means: “distressed". I refer to it as a "Divine Distress", when the season of sins pleasure has ended (Hebrews 12:25). Its call conviction. As long as sin is fun, from sin one can’t be free! The reason this young man could walk away from Jesus, is he still enjoyed his sin!
This is why God's compassion (love) sometimes is also seen in righteous rebuke and in righteous judgment! As many as He loves He rebukes and chastens...as He is heard saying: "repent." (Revelation 3:19)
“Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil…”-Psalms 141:5
Wow! When the righteous hit me with the hard truth, David called it kindness! He called it mercy! He said that an “excellent oil”, or an anointing to excel came by way of correction!
See the very one's Jesus receives as son's and daughter's He will scourged and chastened, because He loves them. (Hebrews 12:6)
Sometimes His judgment is what brings forth the victory! (Matthew 12:20)
He uses both compassion and fear!
"And of some have compassion, making a difference:
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."-Jude 22-23
See, some make a difference with compassion (love), yet others literally save with compelling fear!
Pulling lost souls out the fire, actually hating in holiness that which is spotted by the flesh!
Meaning: Some are just that near eternal damnation!
Instead of a soft Word, they are those that sometimes need a firm word to wake them up from there deep darkness!
Sometimes it takes a hard Word to break the hardness of the heart, which is bound in iniquity, not just sin!
Sin sometimes must be offended by the law, that Grace may then abound the offense. (Romans 5:20)
Sometimes God's Word comes as "fire that melts with compassion (like a warm fire) …. yet , His Word also at times comes as a "hammer that breaks the rocks into pieces..."-Jeremiah 23:29
Listen to what Jesus' crowd of disciples said about His message of the Cross. "Many therefore of His disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?"-John 6:60
They called His Word a "a hard saying". Who can bear it? Meaning who bear/take up this Cross! They also, like the young rich ruler wanted Christ without a Cross. Oh, they didn't mind Him bearing the Cross, but they didn't want to themselves. They called this death and denial of self, "a hard saying".
When they rejected His hard preaching what happened?
"From that time many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him."
"Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?"-John 6:66-67
They became offended at His Hard Truth and walked away. They never walked with Him again.
Jesus asked the few that stayed with Him; "Will You Also Leave Me Offended?"
Listen to a woman Jesus preached hard to, calling her sin out. she then in return perceived He was a prophet. Her response was repented, unlike some of the examples we have share thus far.
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. -John 4:16-19
Unlike many today, her perception of a "Prophet", was...
"Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?"-John 4:29
This was her confession and conversion! she called Him "sir". But before she left the well, she could call Him "Savior"! She did not become offended when he TOLD her about her sin.
She didn't harden her heart when He spoke His Hard Word! Jesus speaking this plain to her, is what caused her to turn to Him!
"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel (force) them to come in, that my house may be filled."-Luke 14:23
The word "compel" here means: "persuade by force".
WOW! Who would ever imagine that some, must be forced (compelled) into the Kingdom of God!
Forced, not a gun point. But rather forced in the fear of God to face the eternal reality of a real hell that awaits those who reject the Gospel!
Paul said, "Knowing the fear of God we persuade (forcefully warn) men."-2 Corinthians 5:11
That’s why the preacher preaches at a PULPIT!
To pull souls out the pit!
Many today, only want to accept the "compassion difference making" ministries. But let us not forget, God also uses the "compelling saving ministries" too!
We need both, in balance!
This is why I’m sharing this *truth balance* message.
You can still preach hard, hating sin and still actually love the sinner! Jesus did it! We must remember, we are not attempting to win men's minds, but rather their hearts!
We are not trying to convince minds but rather convert men's hearts! Love people enough to tell them the absolute truth!
After all, "It is the truth (we know) that makes us free!"
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."-John 8:32
"Speak the truth in love..."-Ephesians 4:15
Love the lost enough, to tell them the truth!
Yes, welcome the sinner!
But woe unto us if don’t warn the sinners we welcome!
A Message of Compassion, Is Never A Word of Compromise!
God speaks at times this way.
But, neither is a Word of Compromise Ever A Message of Compassion!-mb
“Open rebuke is better than secret love.”
“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”-Proverbs 27:5-6
“A RIGHTEOUS FRIEND WILL AT TIMES HURT YOU WITH THE TRUTH! BUT AN ENEMY WILL OFTEN COMFORT YOU WITH A LIE”-mb
Be so ever careful before you speak against either method of ministry we’re teaching about in balance. Some (not all) make a difference with compassion. Yet others (not all) save, using the fear of God.
The fear of the judgement to come.
Paul preached…
“And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled…”-Acts 24:25
Paul often preached so hard about the coming judgement (which is eternal), that the hearers would literally tremble under conviction. This means the fear of God was presence!
So let us understand there is a balance of God’s love and His fear. We need both in the Church.
His love will cleanse us at the Cross! Yet His fear will sanctify us from the world!
“That He might sanctify and cleanse it (the Church) with the washing of water by the word.”- Ephesians 5:26
Keeping The Balance,
…saith the preacher.
